Abstract

In the present work, we have synthesized the calcium hydroxide nanoparticles with different molarity of calcium nitrate tetrahydrate. The calcium hydroxide nanoparticles were synthesized by a simple chemical route. The molarity of calcium nitrate tetrahydrate was varied in the range of 0.4, 1, and 1.6 M by keeping the molarity of Sodium hydroxide constant. All the procedure was done at room temperature. The prepared three samples were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM), (Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy) FTIR, and UV-Vis spectroscopy techniques. From the XRD spectra results, it was seen that in comparison to calcium hydroxide prepared at 0.4 M, the crystallite size of calcium hydroxide prepared at 1.6 M decreases drastically.
